Consider a part-time position as an Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment Rater!

Boys Town National Research Hospital has multiple openings for Remote EIPA Raters!

Major Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Conduct diagnostic rating services according to standards.
  • Complete an extensive weekly training regimen consisting of mandatory training sessions with the rater reliability coach and self-directed training assignments.
  • Work a minimum of 20 hours per month.
  • Assist with diagnostic reports for EIPA.
  • Continued professional development in the field of ASL linguistics and educational interpreter practices. Responds to interpreter and Local Test Administrator questions and concerns.
  • Attend mandatory rater reliability meetings.
  • Regularly and consistently communicates with the Rating Coach or other administrators to meet rating scheduling availability deadlines as well as absences, in advance.
  • Maintain a confidential, private work environment without distractions to ensure the focus required for valid team rating.
  • Contributes to a professional environment during rating sessions by staying focused on the rating work to ensure validity and completion of testing within the allotted time (ex: not introducing external topics that may distract the focus other raters).
  • Perform other duties and attend designated meetings as assigned, which may include, but not limited to supporting workshops and/or supporting the development of distance educational materials and complying with researcher validity testing requests, etc.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in interpreting, deaf education, linguistics, or related field required. Master's degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience interpreting or working with interpreters.
  • Must have a computer and webcam, and access to a private high speed internet connection.
