Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment®
EIPA
Grievance Policy
Appeals/Grievances will not be considered on the basis of the EIPA evaluation score. Raters are closely supervised and inter-rater reliability is monitored. Psychometric review of EIPA has confirmed the inter-rater reliability and the validity of the EIPA. A lower score than what you expected is not a legitimate reason to appeal a result.
A grievance may be filed with the EIPA Diagnostic Center for one or more of the following reasons:
- Testing appointment was not kept by the Local Test Administrator (LTA)
- Candidate did not view the proper stimuli videotapes
- Testing material malfunction – testing videotapes break, become stuck, etc.
- Testing procedure problems – the LTA did not follow correct procedure which disrupted testing
- Equipment malfunction – some aspect of equipment failure resulting in disrupted testing
- Environmental problems – some aspect of the environment prevented the interpreter from performing adequately.
Grievances must be received at the National EIPA Diagnostic Center office within 60 days of receiving EIPA assessment results. Videotapes will be archived for a 1-year period, post assessment.
